BegichThomas S. Begich, project director
Thomas S. Begich has worked in the juvenile justice field since 1986 and is a professional musician. He has been active with the Alaska Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee for 19 years, and has served on numerous juvenile justice committees, coalitions and commissions throughout the state. As owner of CW Communications, Thomas provides training in juvenile justice and other community-related fields, and has provided training around the country through the Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

HitchcockHon. William Hitchcock, judicial fellow
Master William Hitchcock is the presiding judge for Children’s Court in the Anchorage Superior Court. In addition to hearing delinquency, child protection and domestic violence cases, he is responsible for administration and case management in this court. He chairs the Anchorage Juvenile Justice Working Group, which is composed of justice agencies and community providers. Master Hitchcock is an active member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He has received several honors including the national Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) "Judge of the Year" award, as well as the Alaska Supreme Court Community Outreach award.

MoffittLinda Moffitt, M.Ed., justice fellow
Linda Moffitt is a 26-year veteran of service in child protection and juvenile probation under the Department of Health and Social Services for the State of Alaska . Since 1998, she has supervised the Juvenile Intake Unit of the Anchorage Regional Probation Office. She is a member of the Anchorage Juvenile Justice Working Group, the Making a Difference Partnership, the Tribal Youth Diversion Effort, and other community collaborative organizations.

SchaffKarin Schaff, treatment fellow
Karin Schaff knows the world of mental health and substance abuse treatment for adolescents from her 16 years of experience in those fields. The past nine years she served as the treatment services director for Volunteers of America in Alaska , overseeing residential and outpatient treatment programs for chemically dependent and substance abusing adolescents. Karin is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified addictions counselor.

DahlgrenElaine Dahlgren, treatment fellow
Elaine Dahlgren serves as treasurer of the statewide Substance Abuse Directors Association and is a member of the Alaska State Community Service Commission. She has served as president/CEO of Volunteers of America Alaska since 1996. Elaine has also been an active member of the Juvenile Justice Working Group in Anchorage for nine years. She is a member of the Volunteers of America National Board of Directors and that group's National Ecclesiastical Board. She also serves as a commissioned minister.

PageNelson Page, community fellow
Nelson Page has been a litigator in Alaska since 1979, handling complex matters involving construction and design claims, as well as personal injury and tort matters. He is a recognized and respected mediator and arbitrator in these areas. He has served as a member of the Alaska Bar Association's Ethics Committee and spoken frequently on legal ethics, professional responsibility, and the avoidance of malpractice. Among his clients are CNA, USKH Architects and Engineers, and Travelers Insurance. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and a former member of the Georgetown Law Journal Editorial Board, he clerked for Justice Warren Matthews before joining private practice with Burr, Pease & Kurtz in 1979. He has served in numerous positions of leadership within the Alaska civic community. He was also the founding chair of the Mental Health Trust Authority and served on its Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2006.
