Reclaiming Futures Crossroads (Iredell, Surry and Yadkin Counties), NC

About Us  |  Our Team  |  News  |  Media

Reclaiming Futures Crossroads, is one of 26 Reclaiming Futures projects using a new approach to help teens involved with drugs, alcohol, and crime. The project, based in Iredell, Surry and Yadkin counties, is one of the many supported by Communities Caring for Families which implements system-of-care principles and practices to serve children and families here.

Iredell, Surry and Yadkin counties struggle with a limited number of licensed substance abuse professionals and a low service penetration rate. Through the Reclaiming Futures approach, we are working to increase our service efficiency and expand substance abuse services to meet this demand.

At Reclaiming Futures, we are working to improve the quality of alcohol and drug treatment services available to youth in our justice system. We plan to do the following to help young people in our area:

  • Improve treatment services for drug and alcohol use
  • Create a comprehensive system-of-care that coordinates juvenile court, juvenile services, schools, social services, and other community family service agencies, and;
  • Involve the community in creating new opportunities for youth.

In addition, we will increase the role of families in directing their care. We also strive to incorporate mental health service delivery and work in tandem with other community groups/projects such as: County Child Protection Teams, Exchange/SCAN, Family Court Improvement Projects, Iredell-Statesville Schools-Monticello School, Juvenile Crime Prevention Councils, Juvenile Justice Treatment Continuum, Surry Youth Achievement Program, System of Care and other family service organizations.
