About Us   |  Our Team   |  News  |  Media

Reclaiming Futures Project W.E.A.V.E. based in Marquette, Michigan was one of 10 original projects funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help teens in trouble with drugs, alcohol and crime. We partnered with the courts, treatment facilities, detention centers and community to meet to bring about this change. W.E.A.V.E. stands for Willingness to Explore Approaches that Validate and Embrace youth.

At Reclaiming Futures Project W.E.A.V.E., we worked to improve the quality of alcohol and drug treatment services available to youth in our justice system in the following ways:

  • Screened and assessed teens in the system suspected of alcohol and drug abuse
  • Developed a full continuum of treatment options for youth including day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, plus co-occurring and aftercare services
  • Issued a juvenile justice report card to the community showing outcomes for youth who encounter their system
  • Used a Youth Advisory Council to ensure the youth voice is heard in creating a functional system
  • Worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide mentoring opportunities and other local organizations to provide pro-social activities for youth
